Andrew Levinson is currently a freelance journalist for thisabled.com, CAREERS & the disABLED Magazine, Equal Opportunity Magazine, and mobilewomen.org. He has been involved in professional writing and publishing since receiving a bachelor of arts in political science, summa cum laude, from Hofstra University–where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.

Mr. Levinson’s writing career began after graduating from Hofstra, when he became an editorial intern and writer for Equal Opportunity Publications (EOP).  Advocating for people with disabilities is a passion of Mr. Levinson’s. Participating in the democratic process, he has served as an advocate in various positions within the Democratic Party: Downstate Vice-Chair of the New York State Young Democrats Disability Issues Caucus (NYSYDDIC), Communications Director of the College Democrats of America Disability Caucus (CDA), and Committeeman on the Nassau County, NY Democratic Committee.

When he is not writing and advocating, he spends his time with at-risk students in Nassau County, teaching them business skills such as resume writing. Mr. Levinson is dedicated to giving his time to causes that will improve his community. He can be reached at andrewmlevinson@aol.com.
